Emily Blunt Says Wearing Corsets For ‘The Young Victoria’ Was Hell Emily Blunt |
Hollywood beauty Emily Blunt who portrayed the role of ‘Queen Victoria’ in the movie ‘The Young Victoria ‘ has revealed that it was ‘hell’ for her donning tight corsets.
The actress claimed that she really had a difficult time wearing those tight dresses which were specially designed by designer Sandy Powell for the movie. According to the 27-year old star, the restrictive outfits that she was made to wear often left her unable to breathe.
Emily Blunt said, "It was hell. When you're playing a character like Queen Victoria it helps to have a visionary like Sandy Powell. She corseted me within an inch of my life. Thank god I did learn to work the corset. 'The shape needs to be right'. I said, 'Well I can't breathe, Sandy.' And she said, 'I don't care'.”
"But it worked. It transported me to a whole other place so I have to be grateful, I think," she added.
