Elton John’s E.coli infection and flu symptoms have prompted the Rocket Man to scrap a weekend show in California.
The pop pianist and touring partner Billy Joel were hoping to bring their Face 2 Face Tour to the Oracle Arena in Oakland on Saturday night (14Nov09), but Elton is still too sick to perform.
He scrapped a handful of concerts in the U.K. after falling ill at the beginning of November (09), when he was briefly hospitalised in London.
A statement on the star's website reads, "Elton has been out of hospital for several days now. He is making a good recovery, but he is not yet quite well enough to perform."
It is still not known if Elton and Joel's upcoming show at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on 17 November (09) will go ahead.
And his aides are not ruling out the possibility that he could make his first public appearance since his illness at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's Enduring Vision event in New York City on Monday (16Nov09).
