Dr. Eric Cornell Talks At Nagarjuna NGW Bangalore |
Dr. Eric A Cornell, the Nobel Prize Winner in Physics (2001), is currently in the nation’s IT capital for his research work.
Dr. Cornell is an American Physicist , who along with Carl E. Wieman, synthesized the first Bose-Einstein Condensate in 1995. For their efforts, Cornell, Wieman, and Wolfgang Ketterle were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in the year 2001.
The great Physicist was felicitated in an event organized on the 19th of March 2010 by the Nagarjuna Greenwoods Community at Outer Ring Road .The program included cultural presentation and a talk by Dr. Eric and his wife, Celeste Landry.
The cultural show included Vedic chants and dance performances on the popular tracks of ‘ 3 Idiots’ by the children of the community.
Dr.Cornell later spoke about his work and also explained it very creatively to the little ones. The highlight of the event was the animated and lively manner in which he explained the complex subject to everyone.
Dr. Cornell’s wife, Celeste Landry, who is a Math teacher , spoke about her teaching experiences in the United States and compared them with the teaching methodology in India. The family also talked about their travel experiences in India and the religious diversity that co-exists here.
The program was well organized by the NGW community and the audience was very enthused by Dr. Eric's thoughts.
His talk clearly made everyone in the crowd yearn for teachers like him in the country.
