Dharmendra Not To Contest Elections Because No Party Considers The Country As Mother Dharmendra |
Actor Dharmendra who is also an ex- BJP MP said that he will not contest the elections from Bikaner saying that he is not meant to be part of Indian politics because none of the parties consider India as mother.
The 75-year-old actor said, "I am an emotional person. I don't know which party is having what ideology. Take any party, no one considers the country as mother. Everywhere the country is being looted. The day political parties start regarding India as mother and begin serving her, the country will become a heaven."
Dharmendra said that he was never interested to contest in elections because of the political scenario in India. However, he fought the elections in the past after one of his known people said, "what will happen to the country if good people don't join politics?”
Though the actor came out as a winner for the 2004 Bikaner Lok Sabha seat, he later regretted for it. He added, "I felt bad for defeating my nearest rival. What I did in Bikaner in five-years wasn't done in the past 50 previous years. However, I don't desire to take credit for it."
Dharmendra is currently busy promoting his flick Yamla Pagla Deewana which is slated to be released soon.
