Evergreen star of the Indian cinema, Dev Anand’s classic hit ‘Hum Dono’, made almost 50 years ago in black & white print (Eastman), will now be released again in the coloured version in February next year.
The movie which is remembered even till now will be released in a digitally coloured version in India, by Feb, 2011. Dev Anand starred opposite to beautiful actresses like Nanda and Sadhana in the movie.
On January 28th, the movie will be released overseas while it will hit the Indian silver screen in Feb.
Dev Anand said in a statement, "Where ever I go, people talk to me about the film. It`s nostalgic, I am releasing the coloured version of the film in January for all my fans.”
The movie is produced by Dev Anand and was directed by Amarjeet, written by the star’s younger brother Vijay Anand.
Anand’s home production runs under the banner of Navketan films and it has produced movies like ’Hum Dono’, Baazi’, ‘Guide’, ‘Prem Pujari’, ‘Tere Ghar Ke Saame’ and ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.
Dev Anand adds further, “This is the 62nd year of Navketan Films. I have received lots of love from my fans for a long time and `Hum Dono` was a craze when it released. Lot of people were requesting to release the colour version of the film for a long time.”
The songs from ‘Hum Dono’ ‘Abhi Na Jao Chodkar’ and ‘Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya’ are still the favourite of many; in fact they are considered to be one of the best composed songs of the Indian cinema.
The movie is made by the art advanced technology in the US and is in anamorphic lens series Cinema Scope with Dolby Digital Ex surround sound.
