American actor Dennis Hopper has been honoured with the prestigious award of Hollywood's Walk of Fame on Friday. The actor is the 2,403rd star to receive the honour.
The 73-year-old actor some months ago revealed that he is battling prostate cancer.
Dennis Hopper quoted, "Everyone here today that I've invited and obviously some that I haven't invited have enriched my life tremendously. They've shown me a world that I'd never seen, being a farm boy from Dodge City, Kansas."
The award was presented by Leron Gubler, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive.
On the occasion, Viggo Mortensen praised the Hopper for his outstanding talent.
Viggo Mortensen said, "He is someone who has seemed to regularly rise out of the ashes of self-inflicted chaos, surprising us with his originality and wit as an artist and defying the odds by somehow staying alive physically and professionally.”
Hopper steeped on the stage with the help of assistance of aides and spoke a bit with great effort. "Everything I learned I got it all from you, so this has been my home and my schooling. And I love all of you. And I just want to thank you. That's all I can do,” he said.
