Cocodle - Google’s New Philanthropic Effort |
Google has recently launched a new web search called Cocodle.com that works on a unique model to generate support for under-privileged and differently-abled children.
Google implores it’s users to use Cocodle.com and assures that by doing so, Google “will contribute towards helping disabled and orphaned children across the world,” this according to the ‘about’ section in the Cocodle site. It goes on to say “We are going to emphasize on helping differently-abled and underprivileged children, first locally and then globally as we grow. The revenue that we generate may be minimal at the beginning phase, but we are committed towards helping these children with as much as we can, and we do believe we will grow with time and with your support.”
According to the website, Cocodle will sponsor the education and healthcare needs of differently-abled and underprivileged children through existing non-profit social-development organizations. Google plans to bring about transparency in their efforts by posting their achievements in the official Cocodle blog.
Google assures users that they will get the same search results on Cocodle as they do on Google.com, the world’s number one search engine. Google admits that some other features like authority status, related searches, calculations etc. may not be available as yet. But in time, Google claims they will be available. Search results are currently borrowed from the parent site Google.com.
