Pop sensation Britney Spears’ much hyped ‘Glee’ cameo attracted criticism from audiences, branding the episode as ‘extremely inappropriate’ and ‘sexually provocative’.
Spears who made her TV appearance on the show in September recorded series of grievance from the viewers and triggered indecency complaints. According to newly released documents by America's Federal Communications Commission, the musical’s episode attracted strong ‘sexual’ objection on some scenes.
One of the viewers wrote a letter saying that the Spears’ cameo in the show was ‘obscene and indecent’. Another letter slammed the content of the show comprising of nudity. It branded the episode ‘extremely inappropriate and sexually provocative’.
Glee is a musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox in the United States. It focuses on the high school glee club New Directions competing on the show choir competition circuit, while its members deal with relationship, sexuality and social issues.
