Bon Jovi Did A Free Concert On U.S. Veteran’s Day Bon Jovi |
Rockers Bon Jovi paid tribute to the U.S. military on Wednesday (11Nov09) - celebrating the nation's Veteran's Day with a free New York concert for soldiers, their families and civilian volunteers.
The It's My Life hitmakers brought midtown Manhattan to a standstill for the Celebration of Service concert at Rockefeller Center, which aired across the U.S. on TV programme the Today Show.
Hundreds of local military personnel swarmed the stage, and frontman Jon Bon Jovi made sure to thank the crowd after the show for their selfless service to the country.
He told the crowd, "We appreciate the efforts they (the soldiers) go through for their nation... We should be thankful everyday for what they do and for all of those who serve their country."
The performance kicks off a weekly concert series for the band throughout November (09), as part of its artist in residence deal with network NBC.
