Bajaj Avenger 220cc To Be Launched Soon Bajaj Avenger 220cc |
Leading automaker Bajaj India plans to launch its Avenger 220cc cruiser motorcycle in coming days. The product is expected to strengthen the company’s position in bike space due to its appealing design and performance.
Bajaj has already sold significant numbers from its Pulsar and Discover brands and now, the new version is expected to provide it a boost in the 220cc bike segment.
The Bajaj Avenger has the look and feel of the earlier Bajaj Eliminator which had an air-cooled, single cylinder Kawasaki engine and was sold at a premium price. However, the Avenger will get a higher price tag.
According to sources, “The Bajaj Avenger 220, like the Pulsar 220 DTS-i, could cost just a couple of grand more than the outgoing model and the bigger engine could result in the Bajaj Avenger 220 DTS-i outperforming the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark when it comes to the speed, pick-up, torque and acceleration stakes.”
The earlier Avenger had an engine of 0.5 bhp power and 4 Nm torque. It could attain a top speed of 114 km/h. The bike was the first cruiser developed by an Indian company. It was launched with the native 178.6 cc DTS-i engine in 2007.
