B2100 Samsung Marine Outdoor Phone Launched in India Samsung B2100 |
Samsung has launched its Marine ‘outdoor phone’ in India which sports a rugged build and which can withstand the harsh Indian physical-environment.
There is also a previous article on the phone in this section when the phone was slated to be introduced last month.
The B2100 has the threshold to withstand bumps, bangs, scrapes, dust and even water.
Samsung claims this phone is a first in India and with its launch has created an entirely new segment in
the highly competitive mobile phone market.
The outershell of the phone is an anti-shock urethane-made casing which gives it its rough and tough capabilities. It also has decent water resistive capability. Earning an IP57 certification, it is resistant to water up to one meter deep for as long as half an hour. It is excellent in weathering harsh rains, fog, humidity, sand and extreme temperatures. Apparently it is tested under specifications by the US Department of Defense.
On softer features, the phone boasts loud external speakers, noise cancellation and a flash light. It comes with a modest 1.3 megapixel camera, camcorder, FM radio, music player and expandable memory upto 8GB. Not the least, the phone is equipped with Bluetooth and USB support.
It is available in two colour options, red and green and is priced at Rs. 7,030.
