The German-based luxury car maker Audi India has launched its new Sedan Audi R8 5.2 FSI with V10 engine for the Indian market. The new car comes at a whopping price of Rs 1.35 crore.
The completely built unit will be sold in the domestic market. The earlier version of the car R8 with V8 engine was launched in India in 2008.
With the objective of tapping growing luxury car market, the company has launched the high-end luxury sedan. It has also received 15 units of pre-orders for the Audi R8 sedan. Audi, which already has 20 percent market share, plans to sweep 25 percent of the market share with this launch, in this year.
“We are happy to launch the new R8-V10 engine here in India. Already, we have got bookings for 15 units,” Audi India Director Michael Perschke was quoted as saying.
At present, Audi sells A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 series in the Indian market.
