American Idol Contestant Dragged By Police- Simon Cowell Dumbstruck Simon Cowell |
Outspoken Simon Cowell was left speechless when an American Idol hopeful had to be cuffed and dragged from an audition after refusing to leave.
The music mogul, along with fellow judges Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson, was filming the audition process in Orlando, Florida last summer (2009) when Jared Norrell stepped up to show his vocal talents.
After singing an ear-shattering rendition of Amazing Grace, DioGuardi asked the bemused 28 year old, “Oh good Lord, what was that? Do you really think you're a good singer? Seriously, I'm not trying to be rude. You think you're a great singer?”
To which the wannabe replied, “Guys, can I just have two seconds more please... I'm tripping, I'm tripping... you feel me? I'm losing it... Can I sing one more song?”
A bewildered Cowell remained uncharacteristically silent as the graphic designer broke into song again - prompting Jackson to call on security.
But after bodyguards hauled him away from the audition room, there was an altercation resulting in the would-be singer being handcuffed with the aid of police and dragged out of the building's exit.
The episode aired in the U.S. earlier this week.
