Adrian Mutu Appeal Against Chelsea Dismissed Adrian Mutu |
The appeal by Romanian striker Adrian Mutu against the world body FIFA order that he has to pay former club Chelsea 17.17 million euros in damages for breach of contract was dismissed by Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The English Premier League had sacked the striker after he was tested positive for cocaine in 2004, a year after joining them from Parma .The football’s ruling body had ordered him to pay the sum last year.
The 30-year-old has since then trying to rebuild his career, joining Juventus in 2005 and then moving on to Fiorentina in 2006.Mutu had to serve a seven-month ban period for his cocaine offence.
