Abhishek Bachchan Enjoys ‘Bingo’ More Than Acting Abhishek Bachchan |
Abhishek Bachchan seems to be having a gala time on the sets of the newly launched ‘National Bingo Night’. Just after two episodes of the show he claims that anchoring is more enjoyable than acting. Rubbishing reports of the show being boring he says he’s looking forward to another season of the show.
He defended the show saying, “If the rating is so high, it means something about the show is working. It can't just be my face. If it was just my face then other artists who have been on shows earlier would have got the same rating.”
According to the Television Audience Measurement (TAM) ‘Bingo’ released on 23rd Jan with a TRP of 5.1 and beat the opening ratings of shows hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Rajeev Khandelwal.
While promoting the show he said, “Anchoring is easier because in acting there are so many other things that come into play and added, “Here you just have to be yourself.
He said television is a means to reach more people, “Today we actors just have another platform to do our work on. Television is part of a visual and entertainment medium. Actors have found an opportunity and another platform to connect with the audience.”
Junior Bachchan said, “I wanted to do something on television that would have been interactive with my audience and 'Bingo' was like that. There are 200 studio audience with whom I interact and then we have the whole home-viewing audience that sits and watches the show. I was really looking to something like that.”
When asked if he has plans of doing any more TV shows, he said, “As of now I am only doing ‘Bingo’. It's a 13-episode season after which if Colors renews it, we'll come back with season II.”
