‘Aashayein’ To Break John’s Stereotype Image John Abraham |
John is known more for looks and style and less of an actor, probably the kind of roles that he has chosen over a period of time has stereotyped his image. Now, he will be seen in ‘Aashayein’ in a very different image and director Nagesh claims that the movie will break his past hunk kind of image.
‘Jism’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Garam Masala’ are some of the films which show John less of an actor and more of a style-man. This time, Nagesh Kukunoor, the director of ‘Aashayein’ feels that his image would soon be taken as more of an actor.
He adds, “I like to cast my actors against the tide. It is a huge challenge the actor if he is up for it. John has played this cool, handsome guy with little bit of variations in many films. I am hoping that people with see him in a different light post `Aashayein’.
John has worked his head and toes to prove his acting skills in the movie. He has drastically lost some 16 kgs of weight and even the movie is shot over a period of time to show the decline.
The movie was made some two years back, but due to a controversy between producers-distributors Percept and Big Pictures, it didn’t get released. Now, Kukunoor is very happy that the movie is ultimately releasing at last.
He adds, “It was very frustrating when it did not release but now it is total relief. The waiting period is over and it was not in my control and had nothing to do with the film.”
After ‘Aashayein’ release, the director is set to finalize the shooting for another movie ‘Yeh Haunsala’. He is even ready with 3-4 more scripts to shoot; in which one is a romantic tale.
