When Panasonic and Olympus came out with their mirror-less varieties of Micro Four Thirds cameras, which were devoid of the pentaprism mirror, the imaging world was taken by storm, quite understandably too. Everyone wanted to know as to when other brands would also join the bandwagon. After all, mirror-less cameras do come with the ease of a compact camera as well as the versatility and professional quality of a DSLR. As if saying to all its fans “Thy wish is my command,” Sony brings out its range of á-Nex cameras, which are mirror-less cameras with interchangeable lenses, the first of which is Sony á-Nex 3. This mirror-less camera 14.2 mp camera comes with two lenses – a prime lens of 16mm and a wide angle lens of 18-55mm.

In contrast with conventional DSLR models, the ‘mirror-less’ construction helps in greatly reducing the overall dimensions of the camera. An elegant, uncluttered user interface – featuring a new ‘never get lost’ menu – makes the powerful creative possibilities of the NEX-3 accessible to photo enthusiasts and snap shooters alike. Shooting parameters are easily accessed via an intuitive control wheel and two soft keys. Images and camera settings are displayed on the large, bright 3” Xtra Fine LCD screen with TruBlack technology that tilts up or down for comfortable viewing in any shooting position. This camera is compatible with Memory Stick Pro Duo/Pro-HG Duo as also SD/SDHC/SDXC cards.
