Every time someone sees a beautiful landscape picture, it reminds us of what the father of photography, Ansel Adams said; he said “Sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have someone click the shutter.” Most of us would also love to capture God’s beauty manifested in nature. Mountains, trees, rivers, streams, ecosystem – beauty in its most unsullied, waiting to be discovered by the discerning eye of the photographer. Most of us who have seen such beauty in nature have wondered if only our simple compact cameras could do justice to it. Two words in answer to it – wide angle. Wide angled cameras like the Samsung ST70 would make it easy for you to do justice to pictures that capture nature. This is a 14.2mp and 5x wide angle optical zoom camera.
Design and FunctioningSamsung ST70 is an ultra slim camera, which sports a minimalist yet stylish design. It measures a meagre 16.6mm in width, which renders it the easy to pocket the status that most good ultra compact swear by. It comes in colours like Turquoise, Fiery Red, Midnight Black and Metallic Silver. Samsung rolls out its own version of an intelligent auto mode in, fittingly, Smart Auto, which oversees both stills and movie capture; it identifies scenes and subjects and automatically chooses from a plethora of still and movie modes to achieve the best possible result. Users also get access to Program mode plus Dual IS (image stabilization) mode – to stabilize images optically as well as digitally – along with dedicated scene mode option. Samsung ST70 offers its users a degree of creativity in the shape of several Smart Filter digital effects, accessed following a press of the 'menu' button opposite the mode button at the ST70's rear. Included among them and selected from a provided toolbar are a Miniature and not one but two fisheye filters, along with many other such modes. It contains internal memory of about 27MB and is compatible with MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards.
