Prosumer cameras, that combine the ease in operation of a compact camera with the control of a DSLR, were unknown till a decade or so ago and have quickly caught on with the consumers as well as photography enthusiasts lapping them up with gusto. The Pentax K-x Black is another one to join this cluster of cameras, with its 12.4 mp resolution and various other features.
Design and FunctioningThough made entirely of plastic rather than the magnesium alloy, it is rather tougher when it comes to the actual act of using it. The Pentax K-x Black comes with a normal 18mm-55mm lens and an expandable ISO range – which can be adjusted to a maximum of 100 to 12800, especially in low lighting conditions. Its shutter speed range extends from a maximum of 1/6000th of a second and a minimum of 30 seconds. The White balance settings it comes with include Shady, Daylight, Tungsten, Cloudy, Flash, Fluorescent and Manual. It comes with the CMOS image sensor, which gives better colour and contrast rendition and consumes less electricity as compared to the CCD. It is compatible with SD/SDHC and compact flash cards for storage.
