It is true that it takes a discerning eye to know and appreciate the value of wide angle lens. Lenses with wide angle functions are always a better choice for taking group pictures or taking pictures of the landscape. Smaller values of focal lengths, less than 35mm or sometimes even less than 28mm, compromise little on depth of field and offer sharper pictures in the centre as well as the edges. This could perhaps be the reason why Panasonic takes care to make most of its compact digital cameras equipped with wide angle lenses. The newest example is the LUMIX DMC-F2, an ultra compact which comes with a resolution 10.1mp and a LEICA DC Vario wide angle lens with a zoom capacity of 4x.

It comes with internal memory of 50MB and is compatible with SD/SDHC and MMC cards for storage.
