Olympus Mju 7050

When compact cameras give its users something new, which no other camera offers – say, a USP—many would definitely want to try it. It happened with cameras that offered full HD recording, cameras that are exceedingly slim, cameras that come with touchscreen controls or even cameras that offer interesting features like face detection, optical image stabilization and so on. There are a number of cameras now that offer HD video recording; there also are a good number of cameras that provide magic filters for the users to play around with. These filters, however, can only be applied to still pictures. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if one could use any of these filters on video, for instance the sepia filter, to make them look wonderful too? This is perhaps what Olympus thought when they came out with the Olympus Mju 7050, which is a14mp and 7x wide angle optical zoom camera provides magic filters that can be applied to video too.

Design and Functioning

As is well known about Olympus’ Mju cameras, the Olympus Mju 7050 also scores highly on the looks, with a simple and elegant design, which could easily be slipped into the pocket. The camera lives up to the adage that ‘less is more.’ This camera is available in Metallic Silver, Midnight Black and Baby Pink. The Mju 7050's impressive zoom capabilities are supported by a 14-megapixel CCD that works together with the high-resolution lens to capture brilliant, high-definition images. One of the few cameras that includes internal memory of a whopping 2GB, this camera allows users to download favorite pictures from their PC back to your camera, search desired pictures according to recording information such as "date", and "scene mode", and view them on the camera. The Mju 7050 features an expanded range of 6 Magic Filters, Pop, Pin Hole, Fisheye and Sketch inherited from the previous model, and newly added Punk and Soft Focus, plus 4 Magic Movies which are the Magic Filters effects applied to movie recordings. A built-in "Dual IS" image stabilization based on high-sensitivity shooting and CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism compensates for image blur due to camera shake using both optical as well as digital methods of image stabilization. as has already been mentioned, this camera contains 2GB of internal memory and is compatible with SD/SDHC cards.
