If there is one thing about broadcast technology in the twenty first century that will be remembered as having heralded a new era, it would be the introduction of high definition or HD as we all love to call it. When video camcorders and small handy cameras too are being made capable of adapting to HD viewing why not a still digital camera, since many of them record video too. This was perhaps the thought behind Fujifilm coming up with the FinePix S2000HD, a super zoom compact camera with a resolution of 10mp, a zoom range as high as 15x and capability of offer full compatibility with high definition television systems.
Design and FunctioningCompared to SLR cameras, super zoom or ultra zoom cameras are lighter and offer the user friendliness of most compact point and shoot cameras. Thus they are lighter than SLRs too – for instance the Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD, an ultra zoom camera that weighs only is 426g but is rather strong and sturdy for a plastic body. It uses two approaches to Image Stabilization – by CCD Shift Image Stabilization, which automatically readjusts camera shakes, while high sensitivity boosts shutter speed to freeze movement and preserve bright, crisp detail. It comes with Intelligent Flash, which captures both the subject and the background with natural brightness, setting the ideal balance of flash output and sensitivity. Its HD function capture high-resolution images and movies in 16:9 format to make them perfect for viewing on High Definition screens. This camera also comes with the Dual Shot Mode, which quickly shoots two images in rapid succession – one with the flash and one without – and saves both. The user can then choose the better one among of them and delete the one that does not satisfy them. It comes with internal memory of 58 MB and is compatible with SD/SDHC and xD picture cards.
