Most compact cameras come with Manual modes, but most experienced photographers, who like to choose their settings, would know that a point and shoot can offer only limited settings in the manual modes. But with the FinePix S1600 / S1770 from Fujifilm, the manual mode can actually be employed like that of a proper DSLR. It comes with a resolution of 12mp and a zoom range of a whopping 15x, with a focal range of 28mm to 420mm.
Design and FunctioningFor a super zoom camera that comes with such a high zoom range of 15x and is shaped just like an DSLR, this camera is rather light at a mere 337g. The Fujifilm S1600 offers full manual photographic control for the more experienced user and an Automatic Scene Recognition mode for beginners. Like many Fujifilm cameras, this camera too is equipped with the 6 scene SR AUTO (Scene Recognition Auto) and Face Detection with new features, and scenes and faces can be captured and optimized even more with the detection functions. Since it comes with an HD card reader and a remote control, the optional connection kit makes it easy to display photos and movies on the HDTV. Its zoom bracketing mode enables three shots to be taken at the single press of the button, at varying degrees of magnification. This enables instant editing on the camera to choose the ideal shot, rather than having to go back to a PC to facilitate a digital crop. It comes with internal memory of 23MB and is compatible with SD/SDHC cards.
