There is absolutely no dearth of compact cameras in today’s world. Companies are competing with each other ruthlessly to come out with the slimmest, the most feature loaded or the most user friendly camera. There will, however, be a section of people who might not be satisfied with just clicking. Many of them may not be able to afford a proper DSLR or they just may not want to carry the bulk. For them, companies like Canon come up with the Powershot G10, a powerful bridge camera which gives a resolution of 15 mp and a 5x wide angle zoom.
Design and FunctioningShaped like a retro model of an analogue SLR with a prime lens, the Powershot G10 from Canon is an impressive bridge camera that even provides a solid grip for the user, which renders it user friendly too. There's a much-improved rubber handgrip, which is altogether more tactile and grippy, than the one found on the previous G9 model. The camera is equipped with a long 5x optical zoom, and Canon's own Optical Image Stabilizer Technology keeps images steady and blur-free all through the zoom range. A new Face Self-Timer automatically detects an increase in the number of faces and makes the appropriate adjustments, which means the clicker himself can join in along with his or her friends. It also comes with new i-Contrast (Intelligent Contrast Correction) system, which controls the compensation level in pixel units to brighten dark areas while leaving bright areas unchanged for better images. Its shooting modes include, Full auto, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual, Progam and so on. This camera is compatible with SD,SDHC, MMC, MMC, MMCplus and HC MMCplus.
