Apple's iPad 2 Launched Apple iPad 2 |
Apple’s iPad 2 is finally launched by the company’s CEO Steve Jobs on March 2 as expected. The next generation tablet computer, which is the worst-kept secret, made its debut at Moscone Center in San Francisco in California. Jobs, who was on a long medical leave managed to appear for the launch event.
So what’s new in the iPad 2? The second generation iPad 2 is slimmer and lighter than the first generation version. And there is another pleasant change in the new version. Yes, iPad 2 emerged with a white-shade as rumored. The tablet is powered by dual-core A5 chip that promises faster functionality- surfing the Internet, playing games.
There is also a ‘Smart Cover’, which is newly brought in by Apple in the tablet industry. This is really something exceptionally novel concept that makes you say ‘wow!’ The slim and sturdy Smart Cover not only protects the device’s touch-screen, but also serves as stand when rolled. The cover, which has been divided into four parts, can be folded and made into a perfect triangle that sits behind the device. Soon we can expect the copy cats in the industry to come up with the same. The polyurethane covers and leather covers come in various shades.
The iPad 2 supports 10-hour battery time. There are two cameras for movie-making, video calling, capturing images. FaceTime feature on iPad 2 allows the users to ‘drop in on their favorite people and see how they’re doing while video chatting. The iPad 2 boasts 9.7 inches display screen.
The iBooks download application lets one shop and download books online. The company’s first gen iPad was largely criticized for its visibility in sunlight especially while reading e-books. We hope iPad 2 would overcome this difficulty.
Needless to say, the device encompasses rich Internet features and allows seamless email access. Of course, there are iPod, iTunes and App Store features dedicated for Apple’s gadgets.
Here are some of the accessories that are available for the device. Now you can transfer data from iPad to HDTV via Apple Digital AV Adapter. There is an ‘iPad Camera Connection Kit’ for directly connecting the camera to your iPad, Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic, Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic, Apple Component AV Cable, Apple VGA Adapter, iPad 10W USB Power Adapter, and Apple Wireless Keyboard.
No need to worry if you miss your much-treasured iPad 2 as there is ‘Find My iPad’ feature that helps one in locating the missed device.
The price of Apple’s iPad 2 starts at $499 and is likely to be shipped starting this March 11.
